Why is Community Important to your Health?
We all want to feel like we belong. To feel like we’re supported.
Have you ever noticed how things are easier when you have a support system? Or have you noticed the void that the pandemic has left in your connections and community?
It can be easy to choose work and overcommitted schedules, over relationships. Or replacing real connection with text messages, and 5-minute phone calls in the car – on the way to another meeting. We are missing a crucial piece in our everyday lives, especially right now, and that is community.
It is so much easier to make a change and see success when you have the support of others who are on the same journey with you. How does joining a community of women – a sisterhood – to share in the wins, experiences, laughter and the tears, sound to you? Knowing that you have the support of other like-minded women, to help when times get tough?
Not only do we want to bring you together in community, but we want to set you up with the resources you’ll need for success, when it comes to your health goals.
How does community boost health outcomes?
Isolation can result in a worsening perception of pain, immune system disturbances, as well as increased incidences of anxiety, depression and low energy. How do we change this? Community.
We know that when patients are well-supported by close friends, family members, or members of a community with a shared common interest – they see better health outcomes. Well-supported patients usually know that if things don’t go as planned (which with life – rarely do things go exactly to plan) they aren’t as affected by the detour, as they know they’ll be supported by their community regardless.
What is the HOA community?
This magical community is found on Facebook, and is available to all Health Over All practice members. When our doctors mention certain meal plans, tips and tricks that they want to you to get started on, all available handouts will be in this HOA Facebook community. Some popular resources include;
- What can I eat, when I’m going gluten or dairy free?
- How can I use food to support a healthy pregnancy?
- What is a castor oil pack, and how can I safely use one?
Our goal is to provide you with sound resources, that have been curated by our Naturopathic Doctors.
How does it work?
Once your doctor has given you a recommendation during your appointment, you can then search through the HOA Community on Facebook, for additional resources to support your treatment plan. We want to make the best use of our appointment time together, answering any specific questions you may have regarding your treatment plan, and to save the researching and looking up resources for later.
How can you be a part of it?
Find us on Facebook here. You’ll be asked a few questions, and we wan to make sure you are an active patient of our Health Over All clinic.
See you over there!
