Feeling disconnected? Like something is missing? Not as happy as you used to be?
Anhedonia is the medical term used to describe an inability to feel pleasure. Or not finding
pleasure in things you used to find pleasurable.
This is a diagnostic criteria of #depression. However, I think it describes a greater issue
people are experiencing today.
Are you left longing for the career, home, partner or family. New clothes or car? Maybe you
have a combination of all of these things and you are still unhappy. We are hard on
ourselves and our partners. And just cannot seem to find that spark.
Although this is a symptom of a bigger problem, you can start improving things today with
this one easy step.
Self care! Do something small for yourself today.
Take a break at work to listen to your favourite song. Light a candle while you make dinner.
Buy some fresh flowers. This doesn’t need to take time or money, but daily self care
practices will help to improve your mood!
